- Producers + Mill:
Felipe Arcila is one of the co-founders of Cofinet along with his brother Carlos Arcila. They are the 4th generation of coffee growers. Their father, Jairo Arcila, is a third-generation coffee grower from Quindío. Jairo told his sons that the coffee industry was not profitable because of the many economic challenges he had faced in the past. Because of this advice, Felipe and Carlos both pushed forward with their careers in civil engineering and travelled to Australia to continue with their master’s degrees.
Felipe was amazed by the coffee culture he saw first hand Australia and was inspired to be a part of it. When Felipe finished his studies and returned to Colombia, he became more involved in coffee and started to study Specialty Coffee. Felipe and Carlos then bought Jardines del Edén where their focus is on growing exotic varieties of coffee. In 2015, Felipe and Carlos started Cofinet and began producing, sourcing, and exporting Specialty Coffee to the rest of the world.

- Varieties:
SL28 is the flagship of Kenyan coffee varieties. Buyers flock to Nyeri because of the exceptional cup quality and high-yield of the SL28. Scott Agricultural Laboratories selected the SL28 from the Tanganyika Drought Resistant variety in 1931 – a cultivar you can lead back to Bourbon variety. The SL prefix is an acronym for Scott Agricultural Laboratories, and the 28 is the serial number.
This exotic variety was created in Kenya in the 1930s. Then the seeds were spread to other coffee regions in Africa, including Uganda, and later to producing countries in Latin America.
This varietal is very scarce in Colombia. Planted in 2019 in Jardines del Eden, they witnessed how well this variety adapted and
flourished in the climate conditions and geography of Quindio

- Process:
This coffee was carefully hand-picked in order to select only the ripest cherries and then hand-sorted to remove any defects. The coffee was sundried on raised beds in temperature-controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved.
